Cat weight management: How to find out whether you are fat or thin instead of relying on weighing

A body condition score is more meaningful than a weight number.
The body condition score is divided into nine levels, with levels four to five being ideal. Feel the ribs with your hands: it is normal if you can feel them easily and there is a thin layer of fat; if you cannot feel them at all, it means you are fat; if the ribs are visible to the naked eye, it means you are thin.
Viewed from the side, the ideal body shape is that the abdominal line is slightly drawn upward; viewed from above, the waist is significantly drawn in. A belly that looks like a bowling ball when viewed from above and a sagging belly when viewed from the side indicates overweight.
Aim to lose 1 to 2 percent of your body weight per month. Rapid weight loss can trigger fatty liver disease in cats, a fatal disease that is more dangerous than obesity itself.
How to operate: Use a measuring cup instead of scooping, divide the daily total into four to five meals, use a slow food bowl to extend the eating time, and increase the interaction with the cat stick. Don't use "it's hungry" as a reason for extra meals. Cats begging for food are behaviors, not needs.
