Is a pet water dispenser worth buying? Measured differences between three types of cats

It is effective for cats who drink less water, but it is a source of noise for cats who originally love to drink water.
The function of the water dispenser is to provide a flowing water source. Cats will avoid still water sources in the wild, and flowing water is usually judged to be safer, so a considerable number of cats will drink water more often because of the flowing water.
Applicable situations: Cats that are fed dry food, have a history of urinary tract disease, and usually drink less water. For such cats, a water dispenser is often the easiest improvement solution.
Unsuitable situations: Cats that already eat wet food, cats that are sensitive to noise, cats that like to poop the water bowl. The noise of water pumps and frequent disassembly and washing only increase the burden on such families.
Key points for purchasing: the water pump noise should be less than 40 decibels, the water tank capacity should be more than two liters, the filter element replacement cycle should be clear, and the whole machine can be disassembled and cleaned. The recommended cleaning frequency is once a week and the filter element should be replaced monthly.
