Moving with a Cat: A Staged Plan to Reduce Stress

Prepare two weeks in advance and move the cats last on the day.
The first step is completed in the first two weeks: move its litter box, cat nest, and scratching post to the new home several times so that it can move in with a familiar smell. Don’t replace all the old cat litter, leave some of it to mix into the new basin.
On the day of the move, put the cat in a room or cage, and put a sticker on the door to remind the movers not to open the door. It is the last group to leave the old house and the first group to be settled into the new home.
After arriving at your new home, open only one room, put in the water and sand basin, and close the door. Wait for it to take the initiative to explore and then gradually expand the scope. The entire adaptation period usually takes one to three weeks.
Use a hard flight case instead of a tote bag when en route, line the case with used mats, and spray the corners with pheromone spray. If you are traveling for more than two hours, it is recommended to consult your doctor in advance whether you need light sedation.
